Honor the Legacy of Stephen Mark Fogel, J.D. ’89

Stephen Mark Fogel was a proud University of Miami alumnus who cherished his time at the university, often describing it as one of the happiest periods of his life. He excelled in his studies, engaging in advanced legal research, serving as the Articles and Comments Editor of the University of Miami Law Review from 1988 to 1989, and graduating magna cum laude. As a scholarship recipient, Stephen deeply appreciated the financial support he received, saving his award letters as cherished mementos.

At the time of his death, Stephen was 40 years old and vice president and assistant general counsel for the financial services firm, Cantor Fitzgerald, which was located on the 104th floor of One World Trade Center in New York City. In loving memory of Stephen, who tragically lost his life on September 11th, 2001, the Fogel family has established an endowed scholarship at the University of Miami School of Law. This scholarship honors Stephen’s legacy by easing the financial burden for law students, ensuring that his spirit of generosity and excellence continues to inspire future generations.
